Wanderfoot

Biography

I was in the Folk from birth, as my Mother & her sister were founder members of The Wayfarers. My Mother was 'Rainbow' and my Aunt was Iss-see-Cas. My Father met my Mother whilst preparing for a camp at Magpie Bottom (east of Otford in Kent). I camped with Mother & Father in the South East London area then known as the Wat Tyler Thing. My first group was the Fircone Elfins from 1950 to 1955 then the Buxaleigh Pioneers, both run at the Co-op Hall adjacent to Bexleyheath Station, and on to the Helper Lodge, based at Shornells, in Co-operative Woods just off Bostall Heath in east Plumstead.
